Kernel

This project has two main functions.

  • It provides and helps you create drivers and kernel code for Moblin while you're waiting for our platform enabling patches to go mainline.
  • The git repository acts as a holding area for platform enabling patches while awaiting acceptance into the upstream Linux kernel.

Where do new patches go?
You should target your kernel patches for acceptance into the upstream kernel on kernel.org. This kernel project isn't meant to replace the kernel.org kernel, just to augment it while new platform patches are working their way into mainline.

What's the policy for taking new patches?
If you want your code in Moblin, you need to get your code in the kernel.org kernel. Once in the upstream kernel or in a kernel sub-system maintainer's tree, we will accept them into Moblin's kernel.

How do I develop a driver or kernel code for Moblin?
Pull down the kernel, modify it, build it, and test it.

What platforms are supported by this kernel?

  • Menlow
  • Netbooks
  • Moorestown - coming soon....
